Examination
Details of the examination are subject to change. The general format will be as described below, but the specific length of the presentation and the question period will be confirmed during the course.
The examination is based on the portfolio projects completed through group work during the course.
Group portfolio
You will work in groups on four portfolio projects that will allow you to put into practice the data science skills you have learned on the course. While you will complete the projects as a group, you are each individually required to understand and be able to explain each project in the exam. It is vitally important, therefore, that you play an active role in the work of each of the projects.
Oral examination
The course is examined via an individual oral examination. At the final examination, you will present one randomly allocated portfolio project and then answer questions about all the portfolio projects.
Your presentation will be maximum 5 minutes in length, and must be prepared using Quarto. You will be shown how to do this as part of the course, and you will have opportunities to create presentations during the course.
Following the conclusion of the presentation, there will be a period of 15 minutes of questions about your portfolio projects.
At the end of the question period you will be asked to step outside the examination room while the examiners discuss your grade. The course is graded pass / Fail. Once we have completed our deliberations, you will be called back into the examination room to receive your grade.
